Services

The prerequisites for sustainability arise where the company’s professional disciplines and motivations internally are in harmony at the same time as the company serves a clear societal purpose. Sustainability can be hard to identify, but it's obvious when it's lacking.

We excel in understanding and creating the prerequisites for a robust operation that can withstand the complexity and stress of daily life. We work as an advisor as well as an external competence center that can be drawn on for projects or as back-up during busy times. Our core services are explained below:

  • Conceptualization - about preparing through development of objectives, policies and strategies.
  • Analysis - about deciding based on sustainability analyzes and scenarios.
  • Execution - about executing effectively and avoiding as well as achieving.
  • Navigation - about listening and communicating to the world you operate in.

Conceptualization

The best way a company can move forward is to adopt a policy or strategy based on the company's purpose and goals - a clear concept of sustainability. A clear concept creates consistency over time and place - especially when daily operations present challenging  dilemmas and priorities must be set.

We help create a framework to discuss and define the company's commercial and societal concept. Together, we take a look at the future and help design the overall management documents, policies and strategies from which the organizational anchoring will develop:

  • Clarification of purposes, goals and motivation factors.
  • Designing policies and strategies for sustainability and ESG.
  • Designing active ownership policies and voting instructions.
  • Anchoring in organization and governance.
  • Adaptation of the company's practices to, among other things, EU's regulation within the field of sustainability.

Analysis

Major everyday decisions - new investments, collaborations or other business dispositions - are typically taken on the basis of a decision proposal, a recommendation or an assessment of the most beneficial way forward.

We offer sustainability analyzes and scenarios that can be included in decisions that require an understanding of the environmental, social and governance-related (ESG) risks. The goal is to increase the robustness and long-term nature of the decision. Our analyzes are based on an academic foundation and less on the popular point of view.

  • ESG assessment of companies, investment funds and asset managers.
  • Impact assessment of companies, investment funds and asset managers, e.g. based on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals or the UN's Global Compact.
  • Assessment of Article 6, 8 and 9 funds and reporting cf. the EU SFDR.
  • Analyzes for use in active ownership and voting.
  • Impartial investment analysis with a focus on performance, portfolio composition and investment strategy (in collaboration with an external party).

Execution

A strong organizational anchoring and streamlined processes ensure an effective execution and achievement of the strategic goals. Furthermore, it ensures that problems can be quickly identified and dealt with. No two cultures are the same, and the organizational anchoring and governance look different from organization to organization.

We offer an assessment of the organizational setup, systems and data that create the best conditions for successful operations.

  • Organizational implementation: Governance, charters, business procedures, annual work plans, and internal reporting.
  • Internal training and sparring (board, management, sustainability specialists, etc.).
  • Systems, research and data integration (e.g. ESG, CO2, Impact, SDG, exclusion lists, controversy analyses, and assessments for use in active ownership).
  • Selection of ESG data and suppliers.

Navigating the market

Where investors and companies differ from each other in their actions, it is in the communication and continuous reporting that the company positions itself in the market as desired and its actions gain recognition.

But communication is only one side of the equation. It is equally important to listen to and understand the surroundings in which the company operates. By doing so, you are able to identify the company’s strengths and weaknesses; and avoid blind spots that lead to errors and crises.

We help navigate the market - and the sustainability environment - by focusing on communication and market monitoring.

  • Communication strategy with special focus on social conditions and sustainability.
  • Stakeholder, media and crisis management.
  • External reporting (PRI, Global Compact, TCFD, EU SFDR).
  • Writing opinion editorials, speeches and conference presentations.
  • Market monitoring and assessment of sustainability initiatives.
