About sustainability

Sustainability is essentially a question of running a business to benefit the world to a greater extent tomorrow than today - and cleaning up after yesterday. It requires a long-term view and looking beyond the boundaries of the business to set and maintain a sustainable course; it is also about translating society's opportunities and risks into meaningful action.

Absolute sustainability is theoretically an impossible state to achieve, but a structured effort is typically sufficient to succeed with the most essential elements.

Today

Today, there are many terms in use when working with a business' impact on its environment, such as sustainability, corporate social responsibility, impact, ESG, sustainable finance and corporate affairs. Most businesses are devoting efforts to interpret and implement EU regulations on sustainability. The regulations stipulate high technical requirements that must work in harmony with the company's goals and values. This is what Kjaergaard Capital excels in.

Thomas H. Kjærgaard

Thomas is one of the most accomplished experts within the field of ESG and responsible investments in the Nordics, having held leading positions as Head of Responsible Investments at Danske Bank and Head of ESG at Velliv Pension. He owns and operates Kjaergaard Capital as well as contributes to academia as an external lecturer at CBS. Thomas occasionally delivers opinion pieces and analyses in the Danish media.
