Together, we create the capacity for sustainable businesses and investments.

Services

With the Nordics as a point of departure, we provide advice to investors and companies so that they can strengthen their business based on solid practices for responsibility and sustainability.

Governance – The best starting point for achieving your goal is certainty about your own capacity and the governance that must support the daily work towards the goal. Therefore, our capacity analysis is based on the company’s overall management documents such as policies and strategies.

Organization – The capacity analysis also assesses the organizational anchoring. A clear and concrete anchoring in systems, business processes, commissions, etc., must ensure effective execution in a sometimes dilemma-filled daily life and contribute to problems being quickly identified and handled.

People – Finally, we also give an idea of which professional requirements and skills should be involved in the daily work. We have a good network and can point our customers in the right direction if new employees are needed.

Investments – We make sustainability analyzes that can be included in new investment decisions or monitoring the risks of an existing portfolio. Investments that promote environmental and/or social characteristics or are sustainable (cf. EU SFDR articles 8 and 9) must meet very specific requirements in terms of achieving their goals and avoiding significant harm. These are conditions that we analyze just as we relate to the UN Global Compact, the UN’s Global Goals, etc.

In addition, we also create strategies for active ownership, which will support the long-term development. Our analyzes take an academic point of departure and not just the popular point of view, as the goal is to contribute to an investment’s robustness and return over time.

Projects – Finally, we are involved in project work for our customers in connection with double materiality analyses, launching funds or preparing documents for inspection visits.

Communication – Where actions differentiate investors and companies from each other, it is in communication in particular that the company positions itself in the market and receives feedback from the outside world. We help design communication and ongoing reporting (PRI, Global Compact, TCFD, EU SFDR etc.); but we also help with crisis management, speeches, debates and other special occasions.

Presence – We help our customers navigate and be present in the Nordic markets. The Nordic region is our home ground and where we have a strong network. Our continuous monitoring here benefits our customers in their business development.

The alternative to traditional consultancy. We receive inquiries when:

The management needs sparring on goals, policies or strategies.

The investment department wants an independent due diligence of an investment or contribution to issues management.

The organization must strengthen its ability to comply with sustainability-related legislation or Nordic presence.

The ESG Secretariat temporarily needs extra resources or draws on permanent expert knowledge.

Below are examples of some of the tasks that our customers have entrusted to us. We solve tasks in confidence, but by agreement we are happy to communicate about the cooperation with our clients. Behind each example there is a reference to which we can refer to on request.

About Kjaergaard Capital

I started Kjaergaard Capital in 2022. Before that I worked as Head of Responsible Investments at Danske Bank and then as Head of Investment Governance & Affairs at Nordea Liv & Pension, the current Velliv Pension.

My wish is to offer effective advice in an increasingly complex and regulated area – at the crossroads between investment and society.

On 2 October 2024 at the announcement of the membership of the Think Tank Europa:

“If investors are to succeed in both creating returns and contributing to a fair green transition, then it is more important than ever before that the EU succeeds in both regulation and setting direction. Therefore, we need to think and communicate wisely about the EU. This is what Think Tank Europa does, and that is why Kjaergaard Capital supports its work.”
